Oasis Iceberg
Evaporative air coolers utilize the evaporation of sprayed water, which is then carried out of the tower by air, cooling the circulating medium within the heat exchange tubes. The circulating medium is completely isolated from the outside environment. Since the sprayed water vaporizes, a large amount of water vapor mixes with the air, increasing humidity. Powerful exhaust equipment, namely fans, are needed to remove this saturated, high-humidity, high-enthalpy air from the tower. On the surface, it appears that the air is cooled while the sprayed water evaporates; hence the term evaporative air cooler, sometimes also called an evaporative cooler.
